GENERAL:
The Sahitya Kala Parishad is ceaselessly striving to make Delhi the cultural Capital of the country by managing and organizing various arts exhibitions, artist camps, National music/dance/drama festivals, cultural programmes in Universities/Colleges/Schools, lecture-cum-demonstration programmes and programmes for young and upcoming talents etc.To provide training in performing & plastic arts to children and adults, SKP regularly organizes training workshops and interactive programmes in the field of music, dance, drama, fine arts & folk arts in various schools and other places throughout Delhi.
Important Programmes/activities
The Sahitya Kala Parishad is giving scholarships to 60 young artists @Rs.4000/ per month for advance training in the field of music and dance and 5 fellowships @Rs.12000/ per month for research work in arts, Financial assistance to aged 10 aged artists @ Rs.4000/ per month, Financial assistance to cultural institutions in the form of remuneration to artists and venue booking charges, Main events/festivals under the General Scheme are YuvaNatyaSamaroh, MahavidyalaNatyaSamaroh, Thumri Festival, Bharat Muni Rang Utsav, Mohan RakeshSamman, Festival of Young Musicians & Dancers, BharatenduNatyaUtsav, Women Artists Exhibition etc. This year YuvaNatyaSamaroh, Thumri Festival & Bharat Muni Rang Utsavwere organized under “AzadiKaAmrtMahotsav’.
LOK KALA VIBHAG
- Promotion of folk and traditional arts by organising various cultural programmes in rural areas of the capital.
- Programmes of folk and traditional arts to be organised at different places of the urban/rural areas of the Capital.
- To promote upcoming folk and traditional artist.
- Summer workshops for children
DISTRICT CULTURAL CENTRES
For "taking arts to the people" and decentralizing the cultural activities, the SKP has proposed to build cultural centres in all districts of Delhi. This centre’s will house a fully equipped auditorium and will organize various cultural programmes/training workshops/interaction sessions/performing and plastic arts competitions etc. Thousands of Delhites will benefit from the facilities provided by their respective District Cultural Centres. The first District Cultural Centre has come up at C Block Janakpuri, New Delhi. The land measuring 4313 sq meters has been purchased from DDA for construction of cultural centre at Vikaspuri. DTTDC has been appointed as Executing Agency and drawings have been approved by the Hon’ble Deputy CM (Chairman, SKP). Approval from all authorities has been obtained and tender for the construction work has been invited by the DTTDC.
STATE FUNCTIONS
State functions are organized under “Days of National importance, , functions to commemorate the great poets/personalities of Delhi, state sponsored functions, any VVIP programme/ function Mega Cultural Events in collaboration with NGOs and Delhi Tourism. Major festivals are Delhi Classical Music Festival, Youth Festival, Bhakti SangeetUtsav, Gazal festival, Sufi Festival etc. More functions are under pipeline in connection with G20 meetings.
FESTIVAL OF STATES
Under this scheme, Sahitya Kala Parishad is planning to organise inter-state cultural exchange programmes with other states. The people of Delhi will get a chance to experience the rich cultural and artistic tradition of India. Encourage and provide platform of age old, time tested traditions of the country and on the other hand, to encourage and provide platform to the new and innovative cultural trends.
CHILDREN ACTIVITIES
With a view to provide training in performing and plastic arts to children, a new scheme “Children Activities” has introduced. Current financial year 2022-23, Sahitya Kala Parishad had organized one month long 40 training workshops and interactive programmes in the field of music, dance, drama and fine arts at various Government Schools during the summer holidays.
